The Birth of an Idea
Bruce Parks, a seasoned food service professional with a lifelong love for coffee, dreamt of a better way to brew cold brew. Inspired by his experience learning from Dr. Ernesto Illy, a coffee industry legend, Bruce started crafting cold brew for himself using an immersion method – n a turkey fryer, no less!

Refining the Craft
Recognizing the potential of cold brew in the commercial market, Bruce sought to refine his creation. Unable to tackle the mechanical challenges alone, he enlisted the expertise of Brian Schyberg, a skilled engineer with a knack for building just about anything.

Years of Collaboration
Over the years, countless variations and iterations were built and tested. Each breakthrough brought new challenges to address, from flow control to water distribution, vessel size, and overall design. 

The Right Whale Connection
The name "Right Whale" might seem like an unusual choice for a cold brew system. But it reflects our commitment to making a positive impact beyond just making and selling products.

Following a conversation with Dr. Iain Kerr, CEO of the Whale Alliance, the company embraced the opportunity to contribute to the critical mission of saving the endangered Right Whale.
