About US
The Right Whale Cold Brew System was designed with a singular purpose of revolutionizing cold-brew production for coffee houses, roasters, and coffee enthusiasts alike.
With over 30 years in food service, opening the very first coffee house/cafe in Sacramento in 1981, and being steeped in the art of coffee by Dr Ernesto Illy, of Illy Caffe.
Bruce Parks collaborated with Cal Poly graduate and licensed mechanical engineer Brian Schyberg to design and test multiple prototype brewers. Our goal was to streamline the brewing process by minimizing complexity while enhancing the quality of the final product - a tall order to be sure.
and, as importantly, to provide a low-cost brewer that will add to the profitability of your business. The brewer offers unmatched ease of use, simplicity, and consistency. It augments your ability to create and produce exceptional cold brew.
The Right Whale Connection
The name "Right Whale" might seem like an unusual choice for a cold brew system, but it reflects our understanding that what we do has a much greater impact than simply making and selling a product. Following a conversation with our long-time friend, innovator, scientist, researcher, and CEO of the Ocean Alliance, Dr Iain Kerr, we thought it appropriate to dedicate a portion of our revenue to protecting the Right Whale.
You see, the Right Whale is the one whale species closest to extinction, with a total estimated population of 366. These particular whales were the most sought after during the whaling era. Over 3 million whales of varying types are estimated to have been killed during that time.
